Don Jose in Forrest City

Uniquely delicious dinner. The papa rellena dinner was a one of a kind experience. I think there is no better example of eating something I don't normally eat at home while on a vacation.

Came into town as we were traveling and stayed at Comfort Inn and went to the Don Jose Mexican restaurant. The food came to our table quickly the server who helped us was really nice and so helpful. We will be coming back here next time we are in town

This place is better than expected. Service and food was good. I think what hurts the place is it's in a run down motel. Patrons have use the hotel lobby bathroom not to my standards no hand soap and dirty.. I just hope restaurant employees have their own.

We dined here twice during the time we were visiting family in the area, and each time we were very pleased with the delicious food and the great service!

Excellent food. The staff is friendly and efficient. The staff even helps me with my lame attempt to learn some Spanish. The food is worth more than what they charge. Someone must have tipped them off. They went up a little, months ago. In a town with so few choices, it is great to have them here.By the way, they very convenient to access from interstate 40. Three minutes or less to get there.

Very disappointing food. If Swanson made Mexican TV dinners... Don Jose’s ground beef is terrible and the food is as inauthentic as it comes. Taco Bell is preferable! I give them two stars because at least the beer was cold.

Food was good, authentic Tex Mex, which is what I was raised with. Quantity as well as quality. Priced average.

Guacamole was a mashed up Avacado. Thats it. Chicken casadea was a tortilla with pieces of chicken and cheese. Thats it. Boring and plain. Enchiladas were bland as hell. No seasoning on the beef, sauce was nasty. They called it enchilada sauce. I call BS on that one. Place was clean though

Good food at a fair price. Prompt service. Don't let the fact that it's inside a motel dissuade you.

The American-style crispy tacos define mediocrity, however the cheesecake chimichanga is divine. Also, the salsa picante here is excellent.

Oh my. What a stop this was! Breakfast up to a reasonable fee is free with a stay at the hotel. My waitress had nearly no customers so we hung out a bit. I asked how she liked being with so much custom art. She's worked there for years and still notices new art everyday. You see. Every table, and more has custom art! Each seem to me to be a 1 of a kind Mexican inspired art. Wish I had time to see more of the art! See my pictures and add to them on Google Maps so even more people will realize this is a cultural icon....sad to say I had to correct them on my order. These things happen. Food was high priced in comparison to volume and price...but with the inexpensive and nice hotel stay and the food suprisingly only being $3 after my money from the hotel? I can't complain.

I travel from Houston to St Louis every few months. My halfway point is in Forrest City, AR where I stay at Holiday Inn Express. Don Jose is right across the street. The atmosphere is great, chips and salsa are good, wait staff friendly. My favorite dish is the shredded beef chimichanga. I always look forward to stopping here and eating at Don Jose!

Shockingly great. Expectations were not high, due to it being attached to a falling apart Days Inn. However, inside the decor is great, the staff is super friendly. The service was quick and accurate. The food tasted great, a little concerned about how fast the food was finished. Only took about 5 minutes after ordering which tells me the food was not prepared to order.

Very friendly good prices and the food is awesome and if you are ever near it is a place that you have to come and try you will not be disappointed

I was soo disappointed everything was so greasy and did not taste good... but at least the staff was super friendly.

The Waiter did not come back to see if We need else to drink. I was a waitress and I know that if your customer glass is half full You should have asked if I want anything else to drink and you get not

Good food excellent service. Salsa is runny though no bulk to it. Fried ice cream was good just not enough ice cream.

Was traveling for work and staying in a motel close by to this location. Was convenient and was able To get right in. Usual Mexican restaurant decor And menu....very well prepared food...fast service with a smile and very attentive. I had the Chicken and steak fajitas which were seasoned very well and was much more than I could eat....large portion. I also got a cheesecake chimichanga to go and it was well prepared and very tasty as well! Good place for a quick and well prepared meal!! I would eat here as a regular if I lived close by....try it out!

A hidden little Mexican restaurant which is where an old hotel restaurant used to be. The atmosphere was cute, the service was good, and the food was tasty. The prices were reasonable but there were no lunch specials on the weekend - only Monday thru Friday, I tried the Steak Fijitas and they had a really great flavour! Would recommend...
